Regulatory context
Why these controls matter.
On 17 August 2026 the Solicitors Regulation Authority published a warning notice on misuse of AI. It highlights inaccurate or fabricated output, client confidentiality, appropriate human oversight and governance, and the continuing professional responsibility of solicitors and firms.
The SRA warning
Accuracy and confidentiality cannot be delegated to the model.
- AI can produce false or incorrect information, including citations.
- Client information must only enter AI systems where appropriate contractual, technical and organisational safeguards are in place.
- Human oversight, informed professional judgement and proportionate governance remain essential.
LegalRAG Pro response
Make the evidence, task boundary and professional decision inspectable.
- Keep a route back to source evidence for verification.
- Bound AI work to a defined task and visible matter context.
- Keep AI-assisted findings separate from approved professional decisions.
- Expose limitations and confidentiality controls rather than treating them as hidden implementation detail.

Important: LegalRAG Pro does not claim SRA approval, certification or automatic compliance. The relevant question for each firm remains whether its own deployment, supervision, data handling and professional workflow satisfy its obligations.
